Interstellar with Roger Sayer
Brisbane City Council proudly presents a special series of Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts for Brisbane Festival
A sci-fi cult classic brought to vivid musical life.
Virtuosic and versatile, international organ star Roger Sayer was chosen by the iconic composer Hans Zimmer to create the prominent organ role for Christopher Nolan's gripping film Interstellar.
Recorded at Temple Church, London in 2014, where he was Director of Music, Sayer marks the music’s 10th anniversary and global impact with this performance as part of his worldwide tour.
Sayer shares his experience of working with two living geniuses of cinema before playing his version of the soundtrack. Performances in Australia and several European countries have already received enthusiastic acclaim. One listener observed, "If Hans Zimmer is the heart of Interstellar, then you, Sir, are its soul."
The program includes other space-related music, including movements from Holst's The Planets. A thrilling event not to be missed!
