Kitchen Studio

Food for thought

Kitchen Studio is a place where sculpture, food and ideas are interchangeable and digestible. The rules of hospitality will be broken, and nourishment redefined.

Pop Up Sessions

Slight update to the opening sentence of the second paragraph: During the day, Kitchen Studio opens its doors to those curious to explore the dormant sculptural dining room. When the sun sets, the installation’s artist steps into the kitchen to host a provocative sensory journey for an intimate group of guests.

Partaking in Kitchen Studio is an invitation to play within the realm of gastronomy as you make your way through a series of conceptually driven courses. Artist Elizabeth Willing's large-scale installation encourages guests to form new perspectives on the modern diet by exploring, engaging, and experiencing edible materials in unconventional ways.

Elizabeth Willing has been making art between the kitchen and studio for 15 years. She makes captivating mixed-media installations and exhibitions which excite and seduce the senses as well as performance meals in which the table is stage for food-centric explorations.

Kitchen Studio will prompt and humour audiences into considering not only how our food got here, but what happens once it is taken inside.

Hosted Activations

Tickets for Hosted Activations with the artist are available. A small group of guests will be invited into the dining room to participate in a provocative sensory journey, a playful approach to tasting and digesting.
Please note: Kitchen Studio offers a unique experience that blends sculpture, food, and ideas. It's not a full dinner experience.

Kitchen Studio is a project that I have wanted to create for over a decade, and I am delighted to be able to produce it on home ground. This is my most ambitious creative project to date, and I feel confident it will allow me to open up exciting new facets in my work, and in the space of food design and experimental eating.
