Stunt Double
Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse and Screen Queensland present
Blood. Sweat. And the cost of celebrity.
World Premiere
By The Farm
Making movies is never easy. Especially in the 70s.
Bras are burning, tempers are flaring and there's no such thing as seatbelts.
If you want to be Avant Garde, you'd better be fast, because time is money and reality feeds the fiction.
Mad Max, BMX Bandits, Razorback...see the golden era of Aussie action flicks from a new angle in genre-bending dance theatre work, Stunt Double.
It’s the 1970s and we’re on set of an action-packed blockbuster where the stunt doubles put their bodies on the line, while the actors reap the glory.
Take-after-take of high-octane flips, fights, jumps and more, it's ok to break a bone or crush a soul, but you mustn’t bruise an ego!
Don’t miss this hilarious, compelling piece of ride-or-die storytelling from award-winning dance and theatre collective, The Farm, in Brisbane for four nights only.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Major Festivals initiative, managed by the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, in association with Darwin Festival, Brisbane Festival, Perth Festival HOTA and Canberra Theatre Centre. It is further supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, as well as City of the Gold Coast. Stunt Double is supported by City of Gold Coast. Stunt Double is produced by Performing Lines. Special thanks to Sanja Simic.
