Orava Quartet
The most exciting young quartet on the block.
World Premiere
Renowned for the visceral thrill of their performances, Australia’s Orava Quartet have been hailed by Limelight magazine as “the most exciting young quartet on the block” and predicted by The Australian to become “one of Australia’s proudest cultural exports.”
Based in Brisbane but firmly world-class and recording for prestigious classical label, Deutsche Grammophon, the Quartet’s laidback style belies the intensity and precision of their music-making.
This concert will include the world premiere of a string quartet from celebrated Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin AO, inspired by Greek folk song, strong women and the ties that bind, through four generations of a family.
Violin I Daniel Kowalik
Violin II David Dalseno
