Brisbane Festival, Screen Queensland and Brisbane Powerhouse present
Dance and film have had a longstanding relationship in the world of the music video and experimental film.
The past two years have seen a trend within the performing arts to explore the digital form, to continue making work and reaching an audience even when an audience could not come into a venue to see their work. Collaborations between choreographers and film makers have woven new territory, pushing form and genre to explore landscape, architecture and bodily space. The opportunity has been to open up to an international audience at the same time as dance companies live offerings have become hyper local.
This program of cutting edge dance film fusion traverses the creative worlds of both the choreographers and the cinematographers — playing both with scale and intimacy.
Featuring works by Australasian Dance Collective and Kiosk, The Farm and Jerrycan Films, Daniel Riley and RADIAL Gold Coast by Back to Back Theatre and BLEACH* Festival.
