Volcano

30 Aug — 14 Sep

Volcano

Existing in a liminal space, a living room in disrepair, a room without a door, two characters recreate the greatest hits of their old lives: a night at a rave, a favourite game show, an 80s music video, passing the time or quietly clinging to distant memories of a life out of reach. A serialised live performance miniseries spanning four 45-minute episodes, Volcano crosses the boundaries of experimental theatre,
contemporary dance and psychological sci-fi thriller.

GURR ERA OP

GURR ERA OP

What would you do if you could never go home? Is your culture bound by place or by self? What happens to your identity when the physical place that holds your ancestral foundations disappears?
GURR ERA OP (which means 'the face of the sea' in Meriam Mir) is a celebratory sharing of culture and a call to action in the face of climate devastation, interweaving hybrid Torres Strait Islander contemporary storytelling, movement and spoken word.

Now immersed in the mystery of Adrift, participants explore a series of fantastical true stories of infatuated dolphins, lonely whales, and remote lighthouses.

Us & All of This

14 and 15 September

Us & All of This

Unfolding momentarily on the Brisbane Powerhouse Forecourt, this largescale sculptural performance offers a rare moment of calm reflection, gathering 100 people from all walks of life to move together as one.
Us And All Of This rejects the positioning of humans as something separate to the environment and challenges the fast-paced, isolated structure of society.

Brisbane Festival expresses deep respect to and acknowledges the First People of this Country.
